Bill Gaither Features Gordon Mote
in Latest Recording
|
|
Gordon
Mote, one of the most innovative keyboard
players and A-list session musicians in
Nashville, is the subject of a Bill
Gaither-hosted 100-minute DVD, The Best of
Gordon Mote, slated for a July 22nd release.
The Best of Gordon Mote features performance
footage of the keyboard wizard, who has been a
favorite on the Gaither Homecoming videos and
tour since 2006, punctuated by revealing
conversations with Bill Gaither about his music,
his extraordinary success in the face of
physical blindness and the unique vision he
applies to living his life to the fullest.
Mote’s self-deprecating humor and his incredible
joy in life shine through his music and his
conversation as he leads Bill Gaither through
the incredible journey of his life and faith.
Sharing center-stage with Mote are his wife and
three children and his mother, who recalls the
special moment she learned although her
three-year-old son may have been born without
sight, he displayed a God-given gift for music.
Although Mote has appeared on stage and on
record with everyone from Brad Paisley and Kenny
Chesney to Lee Greenwood and Trisha Yearwood,
southern gospel with a flair for blues is where
his heart has led him, as his music
demonstrates. Among the stand-out performances
by the multiple ACM Award-nominated
instrumentalist are “The Old Gospel Ship,” “Get
Up in Jesus Name,” “Wake Up Dancin,” and “Mercy
Walked In.”
The Best of Gordon Mote will be available at
retailers nationwide beginning July 22nd or by
logging onto
www.gaither.com or
www.gordonmote.com. More than a dozen
television networks, including Great American
Country (GAC), Gospel Music Channel (GMC),
RFD-TV, Daystar, TBN and FamilyNet, among

Providence Road Releases New Single
|
Female
trio Providence Road announces the release of their new single,
“It Changes Everything”. The trio, founded by Mosie Lister’s
granddaughter, Laura Sue Brod, released their debut self-titled
album, Providence Road, in April of this year.
“This is such an exciting point in time for us as a group”, says
Brod. “We have been able to hear several stories from people of
how ‘It Changes Everything’ has been used of God to minister to
people in various ways. Now, we get to see the ministry of this
song reach beyond the four walls of a church building and extend
into the homes of families everywhere. We chose this song as our
single based on the powerful message within the lyrics.”
The single was penned by Barbara Lister Williams, daughter of
Mosie Lister. “It Changes Everything” says Williams, “lets
listeners know that our perspective of life changes when we view
it all through the lens of His love, His suffering, and His
death for us.”

Speers Honored In Lawrenceburg, TN |
LAWRENCEBURG,
TN - The birthplace of Southern Gospel
music, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., rang aloud on
Saturday night, June 21 at the 3rd annual
Garland-Wideman Memorial Scholarship Gospel
Concert. The concert was started three
years ago at a local church with a couple of
Gaither Homecoming Artists and
promoters Bob & Barbara Garland.
Attendence grew and this past year it was
moved to the historic Crockett Theater.
This year Lawrenceburg's own, the Kellys,
joined in the concert along with Gaither
Homecoming Artist Mike Allen,
Woody Wright, Reggie & Ladye Love Smith,
Stephen Hill and Ben Speer. The
evening's highlight was when Ben Speer
invited Speer sisters Mary Tom
(Speer) Reid and Rosa Nell (Speer)
Powell to the stage to sing the classic
song "Didn't it Rain." Afterwards, Ben,
Mary Tom, & Rosa Nell received a standing
ovation and were ask to share several more
songs. After they had finished singing, they
were ask to remain on stage while
Lawrenceburg's Mayor Keith Durham and
County Executive Paul Rosson, presented
each of them afghans, traditional coon skin
caps, and pewter plates of Lawrenceburg. A
special brick was placed on Crockett
Theater walk in honor of the Speers
along with many more greats.
Governor Phil Bredesen also signed a
proclamation that June 21 was designated as
Speer Family Day in the State of
Tennessee. Lots of laughter and many tears
were shed as the Speer Family, who were
residents at one time in Lawrenceburg, shared
many memories during their time in
Lawrenceburg.
